Camp Adventure

Alright now for my exciting news! This last fall right before Thanksgiving I went through an interview process for this thing called Camp Adventure. I had learned about the program from my friend Ashley who did it last year. Well the interview process went well and I got accepted. This meant that I got to spend the rest of the day filling out a very large amount of paperwork for the program. Now you all are probably wondering what exactly Camp Adventure is, well I shall now tell you. Camp Adventure is a mainly student ran program that takes college age students to military bases around the world to be camp counselors for a period of time. Now doesn't that sound exciting??!

Well last weekend we had our second training session AND we got our placements!!! (That means we found out where we are going!!) Sooo I am going to Stuttgart, Germany for the summer! It should be really exciting. I'm planning on posting all the exciting things as they happen. So be very excited.

Blog

I started this blog during the fall term of my freshman year when (at least I thought) I didn't have a life. The original purpose of it was to review books and movies but that has slowly taken a back burner (it does occasionally still happen though). I have realized that I love to post anything that makes me smile or makes me think. I love bringing you videos that can brighten your day or just make you giggle. I love showing you pictures of all the things that happen in my life, whether exciting or mundane. With all of this in mind I have something very exciting to tell you....tomorrow! hehe I know I'm a little cruel but I have to leave you in suspense. It's very exciting news.

Sun and Snow

Well the rest of the USA might be covered in piles and piles of snow. We here in the pacific northwest are enjoying the most surprising thing of all! SUN!!! It's still a little cold, not yet 60 degrees, but it can get quite warm without the wind. Here's the view out the living room window.

Ash Wednesday

"By the sweat of your brow

Today is Ash Wednesday. It begins Lent, the 40 day journey to Easter. We get marked with ash to proclaim to the world that we believe. For we are dust and to dust we shall return. I hope everyone has a great sunshine day! (At least it's sunny where I am)

Pasta

Have you ever made homemade pasta? Well I hadn't either until the other day. It was a lazy afternoon and my roommate and I were trying to figure out what we wanted to have for dinner. For some strange reason we decided on homemade pasta. Our first dilemma was we didn't know the first thing about making pasta. So we called up my roommates grandma and got instructions. Now that was handled but we moved on to the next dilemma we don't have a rolling pin. We used a can of whole olives as our rolling pin, problem solved. We continued on our merry way of making pasta. It turned out very nice if I do say so myself.
